2024 Movie Ranking so far (Late July)

Seen some … let me short-review some 🙂 ans then list them neatly.

AXEL F: well, Eddie Murphy is back. And he is just a shadow of his former character in this franchise. As our his pensionada-colleagues. SO no wonder younger actress Taylour Dominique Paige-Angulo stole the show as Axel’s daughter. Funny-man Reinhold is hardly even in the movie and is part of one of the biggest plotholes ever. O, Kevin Bacon as bad guy is actually cool enough. The guy is still as fast on his feet as ever.
KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES: just plain solid amazing stuff. To bad the humans are still up to no good… and that some apeys are going the same route. But to see all the amazing scenery and talking apes is just really cool. And do love the story again very much.
THE WATCHERS: halfway in you are getting the “was this all there is” feeling, but the true movie begins áfter you get that feeling. And made it really worth the time.
I.S.S.: sigh… too bad. I think this could have been done with a better outcome or at least with a better story. Now it feels like total paranoia yet no innovation.
MY SPY: THE ETERNAL CITY: well… this was fun. Not a really smash hit, like the first one, but well enough. A tad too many plotholes yet again, sadly and the transition of the baddy is just plain disgusting really. Showoff Chloe Coleman is actually good and looking forward to new work
CIVIL WAR: it is a true confrontation of how the US is currently at, almost… almost.. Disgustingly so, in fact. The movie pays respect to the work of the PRESS though and their hardships, trying to tell true stories and shoot true images. But also ‘freedom of press’ is mighty difficult when folks with big weapons are only interested in ‘freedom to bear arms” (and play judge juror and hangman all at the same time!!! How is thát part of the Constitution?). The pure torment as seen via the eyes of Kirsten Dunst feels almost too real.

My LIST 🙂 from ‘best’ to ‘never mind’
