2025 Movie Ranking so far

Seen some … let me short-review some 🙂 and then list them neatly.

THE SILENT HOUR: due to the “we are deaf” communication and the strong acting, this one is surprisingly solid.
THE ACCOUNTANT #2: Bernthal & Affleck, in a moderate story. But due to the brother-connection it was good, actually. And the rest is just an odd story which sets up loads of action.
BALLERINA (John Wick #5): more Wick and more Wick-universe. If you like action movies, this is top notch.
THE OLD GUARD #2: a more muddy story then in #1, clearly setting up a trilogy of sorts. Which I like.
HEADS OF STATE: Cena & Idris. Action, popcornmovie. All fun.
SUPERMAN 2025: more then I hoped for. Loved the dog. Hated Luthor, but loved the actor. Thought the jealousy-angel was a tad meh, but soit. Loved Lois/Clark and also loved Mutant Toes as well as Guy’s barber 🙂 . Also looking forward to Supergirl now!

My LIST 🙂 from ‘best’ to ‘never mind’

Thunderbolts*
Superman 2025
Captain America: Brave New World
Mickey 17
Ballerina (Wick)
The Accountant #2
A Working Man
Novocaine
Fight or Flight
The Old Guard #2
The Silent Hour

Fountain of Youth
The Electric State
Flight Risk
Love Hurts
The Gorge
Havoc
Heads of State
Exterritorial
The Cleaner
Companion
Monster Summer
Mr. K
Back in Action
The Monkey
G20
Sonic #3
Weekend in Taipei
Last Stop In Yuma County

Kraven The Hunter
In the lost Lands
Shadow Force

Also: Stuff above the first *** is “must see” and stuff below the lowest ****** should be avoided at all costs or at least/best can be missed easily.

I fear I tend to pick out movies that seem promising yet are just a disappointment really. Or give me the idea ‘wish i had picked something else’ or picked a strong tv-series rather then a new movie for the sake of a new movie.
So… looking forward to Sinners, MI8, Jurassic World, binging 28-franchise, FF, Nobody, In The Grey and of course Avatar.
The year is looking solid, but I will slow down on stuff beyond blockbusters, I think.

About the Author

Richard is the driving force behind Comics for Sinners. His love and admiration for female comic book characters is virtually unparalleled, which immediately explains his biggest 'sin': his Hot Mummy fetish. This sketchbook theme is philogynistic in nature and even the source of his WIP comic book series "The Sisterhood".
