2026 Movie Ranking so far (June)
Seen some … let me short-review some 🙂 and then list them neatly.

MICHAEL: of course this is not fully accurate but the rise to fame (through hardships and brutality), the musical energy and Michael’s portrayal overall is set up most remarkablly, making this a bio-pic worthy of his legacy. The movie might stop at the hight of his BAD-tour, omitting the controversy (and more) later in his life, but perhaps that will be for a Part 2. For now, this is enough and it is a blast from beginning to end.
THEY WILL KILL YOU: Battle scenes and cinematography were stunning. Sure there were a few dangling character quirks and semi-plotholes, but all in all one of the coolest revenge-movies I have seen. If you see the trailer, and think you might have seen the whole movie… nope. There is much more fortunately
PROJECT HAIL MARY: just… wow. Much more then a scify-movie. It is heartfelt, it has a solid message, amazing acting, but it also feels thoroughly original. #1 now for my 2026-list.
SWAPPED: this is new and exciting. A fun animation movie, with enough elements that made it fresh and fun. Nicely done.
NORMAL: yeah sure the same dude as in NOBODY and immediately it feels like #3… But still isn’t. It does have the same quality, odd humour, offbeat shooting, but it also has… oooooo alright this is really NOBODY #3 which is good and fun
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: solid. Not sure if it will resound with the current youth, but it had enough new and old for me, to thoroughly enjoy this. And Leto was finally a perfect fit.
SISU ROAD TO REVENGE: the intensity of this character, the drive and the astonishing ideas. Impressive. The steroid-tank might have been a tad much, but so be it. The final moments of the movie, really hit hard.
DUST BUNNY: very original, this one. Mix up LEON with PAN’S LABYRINTH, add in some funky mushrooms, and some Tim Burton sceneries and you have one nice brew!
THE RIP: a buddy-cop movie, sure. But one that is done right. A lovely layered movie, that makes it worth the time for sure. The team-chemistry is really the part setting up the scenes.
THE WRECKING CREW: aside of the Hawaii (scenery and culture) aspect, the movie also benefits from two really good tough-guys and a stellar badass female supporting roles that make sure the movie properly lands.
READY OR NOT #2: this is like an ongoing movie and with Weaving being the new scream queen really, this is a solid trip!
