About
Comics for Sinners showcases the femmes fatales in comics through art, news and previews. That’s right, we’re here to spotlight the Bad Girls that put the ‘pretty’ in pretty pictures!
The driving force behind the website is Richard Boom.
Richard’s love for the BadGrrl/GoodGrrl genre started way back in the early 90’s (late 1994 to be exact) when he discovered some Harris Vampirella comics, as well as jumping on board of the train called Image Comics, with lovely titles such as Witchblade, Darkchylde, Avengelyne and many more.
In 2001, Richard started his BadGrrlFanClub via Yahoo Groups, where he distributed all the news he could find about strong female persona’s in comics and gathered a wide following.
After taking those first steps, Richard increased his presence in the world of comics, from working at conventions (F.A.C.T.S.) to Headlines Editor at a comic book news site (Broken Frontier) to even get in the comic business itself doing PR work and helping artists around the globe find gigs (via Boom Art Department) and editing comic books (Nancy In Hell On Earth, Rogues!). He even translated books for the Netherlands, like Dragon Age, Tomb Raider and Stjepan Sejic’s Ravine.
As per February 2013 Comics for Sinners is his newest adventure.
Richard Boom is also gearing up to publish his “Sisterhood: The Mystery Unravels” comic book series, which focuses on his sketchbook theme and which inspired a comic book series, an art book and a statue. More on this via his column here on C4S.
