Cosplayer Lucid Belle To Venture to Comic Con Amsterdam 2017
Since cosplayer LUCID BELLE will be going to Comic Con Amsterdam 2017, this weekend, as ComicsForSinners-reporter, it might be a great moment to introduce her to you all!
I’m Belle, a young woman from the Netherlands with Cameroonian roots! I love to create cosplay costumes and fantasy looks. I have always been creative and active in various arts, wether it be dance, theatre or drawing and painting. From an early age I have been a big fan of manga, anime and japanese culture, so I have been intrigued about cosplay since I was 11. I visited my first fantasy fair at 13 and that was when I made my first attempt at cosplay. Because I was heavily into EGL fashion at that time and very busy with attending high school and university it took til 2015 to actively and more seriously dive into the cosplay world. And I have been loving it ever since!
Cosplay revived my passion to be creative and helped me be the best version of myself I possibly can. Due to bacterial meningitis that got me terribly ill in 2007, my inner ear was so damaged it left me legally deaf and I now manage with my hearingaid. Its not always easy being “chronically handicapped”, but I have already met soo much awesome people in this community and cosplay makes me very happy. I hope to be doing this for many more years and grow to levels of excellence!
I have a wide variety of interests, but when it comes to creating costumes I love picking out characters that are strong, sassy, creepy and sometimes obscure. I often recognise certain traits in myself… and some characters just deserve a little more love! I strive for greatness in my craft and have an eye for detail. I want to create something beautiful, creepy and cool… but also from up close. I want the viewer to be able to come closer and look at the little details I have added to my costume, because I believe it’s that extra attention that makes a good costume even better 🙂
