Dan Brereton Support Hero Initiative With (Almost) Free Books

Dan Brereton is supporting the Hero Initiative by offering a Humble Bundle “Heroes of Indie Comics” so that the Hero Initiative can keep up the good fight! A great way to receive must-read instant classics in digital format at a bargain price and simultaneously supporting a great cause!

Here is what master painter Dan Brereton has to say about it:

“A little bit about why the HERO INITIATIVE means a lot to me –

Back when Gene Colan was living with liver failure and the onset of blindness – but still drawing every day – he had help with the medical bills from the Hero Initiative. I had a friendship with Gene and his wife Adrienne, and they were dear to me. I remember telling Jim McLauchlin at the Hero Initiative, and others : I want every dollar I raise to benefit this man and woman.

But the folks who benefit from the work Hero does are myriad (check out heroinitiative.org to see just a few)
They are creators who have contributed, in many cases fundamentally and integrally, to the medium of comic books. And you don’t always hear about it. Helping to raise funds to aid these talented individuals who chose careers as artists in Comics over possibly something more lucrative and secure- or haven’t been granted participation in the fruits of some of their very lucrative creations or have simply been dealt blows by life too big for them to handle alone. And we can help them . It makes me feel like all this drawing and painting and storytelling serves a tangible, life-sustaining purpose , beyond the needs of my family. Yet many families of other freelancers in this profession must now and again count on the Hero Initiative to aid them in hard times – I applaud it , support it and will continue to as long as I can .

For a small contribution -for the next dozen days – so can you! And get a BIG stack of comics downloads in the process!”

About the Author

Richard is the driving force behind Comics for Sinners. His love and admiration for female comic book characters is virtually unparalleled, which immediately explains his biggest 'sin': his Hot Mummy fetish. This sketchbook theme is philogynistic in nature and even the source of his WIP comic book series "The Sisterhood".
