Given to Me: Evil Kat Comix to publish Karl Vincent: Vampire Hunter
I’m getting excited about Karl Vincent again! Primarily, I have found an awesome artist at a reasonable price, Rodolfo Ezequiel, second a published artist has done the cover for the first issue (Mark Pennington; X-Men, Batman, Conan) and, the most important development in the world of Karl Vincent…I FOUND A NATIONAL PUBLISHER!
A brand-new comic book company, Evil Kat Comix out of Orlando, Florida has agreed to publish this title. They have just launched nationally, not even a month ago as of this writing, and are publishing several titles right now. We will launch Karl Vincent: Vampire Hunter Dracula Rising # 1 in October.

About a year ago I made a deal with another comic book creator, Glaister Silverback Ormsby, to put one of his characters in a Karl Vincent comic book and he, in turn, would put Karl in one of his comics. So, I’m introducing Jayson Hel in Karl Vincent: Vampire Hunter # 3. (for more information on this title, see my previous column.) He will assist Thor in searching for one of the equality crystals. However, I didn’t have a good picture for my artist to go by. I have since linked Rodolfo Ezequiel with Silverback and we’re working out the kinks. Jayson’s supposed to have dreads. I wanted the pages to match Glaister’s vision without putting too much of a burden on my artist for the work already done. I remembered that one of the managers at a club where I worked wore some kind of skull cap but I thought if he could cover Jayson’s head with that, instead of re-doing the pages with dreads, it wouldn’t be as much of a burden to him and the head gear can come off later, revealing the dreads.

Jayson Hel is a character from the comic series Hell and Holy Water, which was inspired by the Clint Eastwood movie Two Mules for Sister Sara. Karl is mentioned in Hell and Holy Water # 1, which I reviewed a while ago for this site.

I also want to discuss my YouTube show Comics Let’s Talk briefly in this column. I have a brand-new co-host! A very pretty girl by the name of April Childers. Her first episode was in episode 20 where we discuss the history of Action comics to coincide with the 1.000th issue of that title. The next broadcast will discuss the history of Marvel and DC team-ups. April is also going to audition for the part of Dragana for the trailer that will be used to promote the comic book. She resembles Dragana almost to a t.

One more actress that will be auditioning for a part in the trailer is Everlei Nicole Zerin. Who is auditioning for the part of the 4-year-old Dominica.
