As Heavy Metal Megazine reminded C4S, it is the birthday to Serpieri, worldclass artist known for his Druuna, which is a book close to the heart of C4S’ Richard Boom, since he was able to translate the book for the Dutch market!

Happy birthday to Paulo Eleuteri Serpieri—the artist/writer who created Druuna, one of the most popular characters ever published in Heavy Metal. Serpieri was actually born on February 29, 1944. As you may have heard (but we’ll repeat it if you didn’t), Serpieri has handed the reins to a new writer/artist team, and the first of three new Druuna graphic novels (a prequel trilogy) will be published very soon in Europe by Glenat.
