More info on the collections via David Mack: When designing the books and the page counts, and formats, it worked out that Masks of the Noh and Scarab (which are both from the other Noh characters POV) would fit together in one 416 page volume. (and Skin Deep and Metamorphosis fit together in one 416 page Volume… the way they were intended to be one big story… which became Library volume 2… originally they were separate stories only because I changed publishers in between them)… so it worked out to have the first three volumes at 400 – 416 pages and all be Kabuki’s point of view, that continue right from each other… (The Alchemy story in Vol 3 starts precisely where Metamorphosis leaves off in Library Vol 2… so it really worked for The Alchemy to be in Vol 3 right after Library Vol 2 to keep that momentum and continuity of story… I really think you are going to like this volume and the new things in it as well ) and then to have Library Vol 4 have the Scarab stories and the Masks of Noh story from the POV of the other characters…. and it also lets you see some points of the story from their point of view now when some moments from the previous stories intersect. I’m designing all the extras in Library Vol 4 right now too… and great to visit Scarab and doing new many new images of her right now.
