0Randy Queen’s Darkchylde Resurrects in 2025
On his facebook, creator/artist Randall L Queen Jr. he will return to his Darkchylde-creation in comic-style via the working title “Darkchylde: Burning Butterflies“, set to be released in 2025.
‘Darkchylde‘ became something of a comic craze in the 1990’s, partially due to superb and sexy artwork but also due to Randy Queen’s (story and pencil) equally superb marketing skills and the superfluous amount of stunning variant covers. Randy Queen’s ability to fill a frame with strong composition and tense action are undeniable. Jason Gorder’s ink work and Jimmy Yu’s colours were equally mesmerizing. All this made ‘Darkchylde‘ the apex of the ‘bad girl’ comic genre. The DESCENT, LEGACY and REDEMPTION mini-series were immensely popular and crossovers with Witchblade, Painkiller Jane and Darckhylde were sign of the value of the franchise until… the creator seemed to had left the comic book scene. Until today!!
DAKRCHYLDE tells the story of Ariel Lynn Chylde who, on a horrible traumatic night, discovered that she has the ability to change into creatures from some dark dimension of the mind.
Background story: A woman unknowingly slept with one of the banished nightmare realm beings, who posed as a man. That union conceived a child, and that child was slowly killing the mother. Using black magic and rituals the man prolonged her life long enough for her to bore the child. The child was a doorway between our earth and the nightmare realm from which the man was from. The child was known as Darkchylde.
