Red Sonja Strikes Out in Ashcan!
The legendary She-Devil With a Sword is celebrating 50 fabulous years in comics this year, and Dynamite is marking that hallmark birthday in many ways. First and foremost is the brand new series from fan-favorite writer Torunn Grønbekk, of hit titles including Thor, Valkyrie, and the upcoming X-Men series Realm of X. Fans got a first bite of the story with the Free Comic Book Day #0. Beloved artist Walter Geovani returns for this major new chapter in the character’s history he has contributed to extensively. Now an ashcan focused on the official first issue is coming to stores!
Sonja has seemingly committed murder, right in broad daylight and in front of countless people. She’s on the run, framed and trying to solve and prove her own case of innocence, all the while taunted by a mysterious force along the way. Dynamite’s biggest launch of the year dives deep into Sonja’s world and the darkness of the Hyborian Age like never before!
Ahead of orders being due from fans and retailers, Dynamite is sending out one copy of a limited ashcan this week to retailers. Red Sonja fans and collectors who might want one of these ultra-rare collectibles and sneak peeks at the new series should ask their Local Comic Shop how they might be making them available to customers.
