Review: Captain America XXX: An Axel Braun Parody

Review by Rodrigo Monteiro

capamXXXSince 2010 Vivid Entertainment, under the Vivid Superheroes imprint, has regularly released porn parodies following big budget Hollywood productions. “Captain America XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” is their latest release within the genre and, unfortunately, it’s not a good one.

I’ve had my share of porn parodies and there isn’t much to be demanded from such movies. They should be funny and exciting – if you know what I mean 😉 – and if they have a nice story, even better. While that was accomplished by Vivid in their 2012 “The Avengers XXX: A Porn Parody”, the same can’t be said here, which is a shame.

“Captain America XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” starts right on it, with Captain America (Aaron Wilcox) going at it with an unnamed soldier (played by Britney Amber) in what looks like a military camp during WWII. The scene is pretty decent, even though neither Aaron nor Britney put much effort on it. They do their jobs, but they could use a bit more creativity in the scene. Besides, it felt to me Britney was miscast here, for I don’t think a 1940’s soldier girl would be totally shaved and spot a groin tattoo. But that’s only me being picky 🙂

Moving on we’re taken to the present, where Sin (Claire Robbins) and Crossbones (Derrick Pierce) are having a talk about putting their hands on the Cosmic Cube. Crossbones feels they should focus only on that, while Sin says she should have her revenge on Captain America in memory of her father (the Red Skull, in case you’re not familiar to the comics). What comes next is one of the most boring sex scenes I’ve ever seen. Maybe the fact Derrick wears a full face mask contributes for that, but the duo lacks in creativity. Claire, however, would probably be a best fit if she were cast as the 1940’s soldier. You know what I mean when you see the movie.

Some transitions scenes happen next, introducing Diamondback (Kleio Valentien), Batroc (Giovanni Francesco), Hellcat (Jessica Ryan), Baron Zemo (Ryan Driller) and the Falcon (Tyler Knight), who cracks the movie’s best joke. The action starts again when Sharon Carter (Phoenix Marie) and Batroc have to seal a deal regarding the Cube. This is, by far, the best scene of the movie. Phoenix, who has also played Sharon in the Avengers parody, domains the scene. Sexy and creative, she knows exactly what to do and how to do it, making the scene not only hot, but also funny. If you need a reason to watch this movie, Phoenix Marie is it.

The story goes on and we meet Diamondback – who was defeated by the A.I.M thugs together with the Captain in one of the transition scenes before – releasing the Falcon from his chains. Out of nowhere comes Quicksilver (Bill Bailey), with the Cube and the object has a “strange influence” over the three of them. The following sequence is also a good one, especially because of Bill’s performance, but the fact Diamondback’s costume doesn’t allow her to show much is a downer.

Finally, we are taken back to Zemo’s lair, where he reveals his master plan and, to celebrate it, decides to have some fun with Hellcat. This is another scene with many problems, especially because of the fact the costumes don’t give the duo much freedom. Zemo has a full face costume, so, no oral fun for Hellcat. On the other hand, Hellcat’s costume has the same restrictions Diamondback’s and – in a smaller level –Sin’s. That is actually, the same problem presented in other Vivid parodies, such as “Superman vs. Spider-Man XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” and the aforementioned Avengers parody. Jessica, however, makes a greater effort than Claire, making the scene not as boring as the Crossbones/Sin one.

Overall, “Captain America XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” is not a bad movie, but it’s not a good one either. It’s hard to call a porn parody a good movie when, out of five sex scenes, two are below the expected. It’s a genuine effort, but it should have been a better one.
