Review: Darkness #116

dark16When following the adventures of Jackie Estacado and his many adventures, one can only admire his tenacity in wanting to survive, in needing someone to love, to have a family to take care off. His curse and burden is his strength, but his strength is also his downfall.

Jackie made sure the end of the universe in the Broken Trinity storyline, was the start of a new one (Artifacts series and more) with him as the father of his daughter (formerly daughter to Witchblade bearer Sara Pezzini) with his Jenny (who actually died way back in the first inception of the universe, so to speak).

Jackie has lived a long and interesting life and at this point he arrives at the end of his long tenure, marking the end of an era. Jackie will come back in an OGN which will most likely turn the heads of many fans, as with the current series.

David Hine writes one mean, loving, enthusiastic, dogmatic yet tragic Jackie and one can only weep for the future he has build for Jenny and Hope.

In #116 we see how Hope marks her own territory, invites the Ancient Ones, and is determined to make it all work for her daddy.
In #116 we see Jackie center on his sanity and his strength as the Ancient Ones are coming into play.

In #116 we are enthralled by the words of David Hine with the art of Jeremy Haun, and we understand that this title should be a fan-favorite for a lot more people then currently might be reading this!

About the Author

Richard is the driving force behind Comics for Sinners. His love and admiration for female comic book characters is virtually unparalleled, which immediately explains his biggest 'sin': his Hot Mummy fetish. This sketchbook theme is philogynistic in nature and even the source of his WIP comic book series "The Sisterhood".
