Review: Doc Savage: The Spider’s Web # 2
The art is great once again. This issue is a little more talkative than the last issue. but it seems to be leading the reader in a great direction as the mystery as to who was responsible for the earthquake, begins to unravel.
Our heroes find vital clues which seems to be leading to a massive cover-up of epic proportions. I don’t want to give away to much, but the autopsy on the parachute man doesn’t reveal much, however they did discover a type of chemical used in creating circuit boards as well as certain pollens from a plant indigenous to a specific company. It seems that certain governments stand to gain financially from the disaster in #1. Doc and Longshot find a facility that may have been used to manufacture the chemical, but it has been abandoned. Curioser and curioser.
Longshot picks up a computer chip, just before the building blows up and our heroes escape just in the nick of time, if you’ll excuse the cliché.
Yes most of this has been done before, but the reader is left wanting to find out what happened anyway. I am thoroughly enjoying this story line and I can’t wait for issue three.
Doc has codenamed this mission as “The Golden Horde.” An old friend of Savage’s shows up and she turns out to be, what else, a sexy woman, who happens to be a queen and the ruler of the “Valley of the Vanished.”
All the ingredients which make up a great thriller and will hopefully lead to an exciting climax.
