Review: Doc Savage: The Spider’s web # 3

DocSavageSpiders03-Cov-A-Torres“Seems to me like some doors shouldn’t be opened up again once they’ve been closed.” – Longshot.
Oh how I love where this story arc is going! The mystery is beginning to unravel. This issue introduces us to Ms. Lauren Silver, another mysterious woman from Doc’s past. She seems like a harmless old lady. I won’t give away to much but let’s just say that looks can be deceiving. I can not wait for the conclusion of this story.
We flashback to 1974 where Doc is having a “disagreement” with another member of the team; Abraham “Watts” Johnson. Two other members of the team, Longshot’s parents, Rock and Torchy, take on a missing persons case which, at first, doesn’t seem to have anything to do with this particular story. Lauren Silver has gone missing but was she the victim of foul play or did she vanish on her own?
Missing persons, World War three conspiracies and strange cults. The pieces of the puzzle seem to be coming together, but each time they find a clue it only adds to the mystery. Tensions are high and Doc’s team is running out of time. Our heroes go from New York to Hawaii and find what should be an unmanned NASA relay station but someone has obviously been there. The tension builds, the action heats up and the mystery deepens. That’s all I can, say without giving away to much of the plot. I haven’t looked forward to the conclusion of a comic book story like this in a long time! ****
