Review: Hack Slash: Son Of Samhain #1
This is a tale of Hack/Slash, a good time after Cassie Hack moved on. She moved on from her love, the baby, the death of her friend, her enemies and her old life… and now the past has come back to catch up with her.
Cassie’s moving on means she went from hunting Undead never-dying Slashers to being a bounty hunter. A job she does not really care for at all and feels more like she is trying to get to reconnect with herself…
Which happens when Delroy comes into the picture, telling her he needs her help into battling some beasties in caves. Cassie is grudgingly eager to check out this new partner with his eerie stories and does indeed find more things that go bump in the night!
More would be telling!
Just know that the writers really found the voice of Cassie as well as captured the feel of the first stories. The violence, the monsters, the action and the dead-as-doornails oneliners by Cassie as well as her sunny composure are the ingredients for a succesfull new chapter in the life of Cassie… whom I missed dearly!
The art is as much part of this experience as well, and it is just perfect to dish out gore as well as action-scenes mixed with dialogue-and-suspense riddled moments!
GO check this one out, now!
