Review: Hellchild #1

hellchild_1_cvrZenescope Entertainment has provided C4S with a preview to Hellchild #1, hitting hits shelves 3/23/16.

This issue is series is written by Pat Shand, drawn by Vincenzo Riccardi, colored by Eleonora Bruni, and lettered by Jim Campbell. This is a brand new series, but fans of VAN HELSING and ROBYN HOOD will find some of their favorites from those series in here. Here’s how Zenescope has been pitching this series to new readers:

Thousands of years ago, Hades, the god of the Underworld, had a daughter named Angelica. Because of his own foolish schemes, Angelica was tragically killed. But present day Hades is a changed man. In a committed relationship with vampire hunter, Liesel Van Helsing, Hades has taken to fighting evil. However, as a new threat rises up in New York City, Van Helsing and Hades will be forced to face the consequences of his past evils. This is the story of the Hellchild…

Beyond that? Our Big Bads are a crew of junky viking vampires, werewolf bikers, and night-club witches.

Some talking points:

NEW READERS can join this series without ever having read a Grimm Universe book;

VAN HELSING readers will notice longterm pay-off for that series’ characters LIESEL VAN HELSING and HADES;

and ROBYN HOOD readers will be glad to see MARIAN QUIN return as one of the most powerful witches in New York City!

About the Author

Richard is the driving force behind Comics for Sinners. His love and admiration for female comic book characters is virtually unparalleled, which immediately explains his biggest 'sin': his Hot Mummy fetish. This sketchbook theme is philogynistic in nature and even the source of his WIP comic book series "The Sisterhood".
