Review: Lunita #1
With the Spanish invasion, called Amigo Comics, there be this exciting new tale about dykes and cats, drugs and Mafia, magical tokens and tears of a mermaid.
This seems like the oddest of mixtures but writer Xavier Morell rebrands this new spinoff series to feature the most interesting (and female) character Lunita – formerly part of a Spanish X-files sort-of-team – and pits her with (yeah, another female bad-ass) DEA-agent Summers and together they are in way above their heads.
Aside the pointy arguments they get into, the shadowy agencies that are investigating them and the sniper who is aiming for them, I am sure they will see a way to work together and come out victorious as only life in comics will make possible!
Artist Sergi San Julián is as equipped to make this story as feisty as the writer intended, as his cartoony yet sexy way of drawing makes sure the sequential storytelling is optimized to its full glory.
What can I say? I love Spain!
