Review: Wolverine XXX Porn Parody

wolverine_cvr1Vivid Entertainment has released Wolverine XXX: An Axel Braun Parody online at vivid.com. It is currently available on VividTV and the DVD version is in stores since Sept. 10. The movie is a spoof of the fan favorite comic character that entered pop culture after the Vietnam War.

(Spoiler Alert)

It was a nice cold evening and I was in the mood for something fun to watch and I remembered I had a copy of Wolverine XXX. So I popped the DVD in the PS3 and pressed play.  While the previews were playing I looked over the case that the DVD “came in “and I noticed on the box that the costumes of the characters such as Wolverine, Deadpool, Rogue, and Lady Deathstrike looked really good. I dig the classic spandex look of the actors in the film.  Hell, some of the costumes looked better than the Bryan Singer films. At least this version of Wolverine wears the classic yellow costume.

I really appreciate that Axel Braun takes the time to bring our favorite comic book characters to life. These comic book porno parodies answers many questions that fans may have about their favorite comic book characters sex life.  Back in the early 1990s in the movie Mallrats the character Brodie played by Jason Lee gets a chance to ask Stan Lee, the creator of many of our favorite Marvel superheroes, the taboo questions about sex and super heroes.  Many readers of comics have pondered the questions of sex and their favorite superheroes. Never fear Axel Braun here to answer many of our greatest questions about sex and superheroes.

One of the biggest issues I had with the flick was Sabretooth. He is a big mean mutant that is covered from head to toe with hair. Apparently, Sabretooth takes time out of his busy day from chasing Wolverine and killing mutants to do a little manscaping.  Come on guys, I was red with nerd rage about the lack of fur on his little mutant balls.  I don’t mind a little mansacping, I just don’t buy the fact that the wooly Sabretooth manscapes. I can believe that Spider-man and Deadpool might take time to do a little mascaping. However, Sabretooth does not strike me as a courteous lover that takes the time to do a little mansacping. I just cannot imagine Sabretooth propping his leg up on the toilet seat, holding a mirror and checking for stay hairs on his huevos.  (That’s Spanish for eggs)

Another issue I had with the film was the two Japanese women making out. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy watching chicks make out especially if one of them is Asian. However, to the overall story line it is pointless. After the two women finish scissoring, one of the women gets up from bed and is killed by an assassin and throughout the film this brutal murder is not addressed. If someone is going to use comic book characters to make a film at least have a believable plot line. Hell, I could almost argue this story in this film is better than most of the new Marvel story lines that are sitting on the comic books racks today.  Still make a damn plot believable! This goes to you too Marvel.

Overall, this is a not a bad flick to have a few friends over to watch. Someone could create several drinking games from this film. The acting is not bad and many of the actors and actresses in this flick really try to pull of the roles of their characters; Deadpool has some funny one liners, Spiderman is “cocky” and full of cute quips, and even Wolverine growls and grumbles like he does in the comic.  However, there was no Stan Lee cameo in this film and I doubt he will ever appear in the Marvel based films by Axel Braun.  The best part about this DVD is that there is a non sex version, so you can invite grandmother over for movie night.

Saving the world from bad porn one review at a time,
