Sara Frazetta takes up legacy with new VAMPIRELLA Series VAMPIRELLA: DEAD FLOWERS

Dynamite Entertainment has announced a new Vampirella series, Vampirella: Dead Flowers, by Sara Frazetta, granddaughter of artist Frank Frazetta.

The younger Frazetta will co-write the series with Bob Freeman, and she will also be the cover artist; Alberto Locatelli will be the interior artist.  The first issue, due out in October 2023, will feature additional covers by Lucio Parrillo, Collette Turner, Ergün Gündüz, and Locatelli, as well as a cosplay cover featuring Rachel Hollon and a special presentation of Frazetta’s painted cover for the first issue of Warren Publishing’s Vampirella magazine.

Info about the series: “

One of Vampirella’s age-old nemeses finally gives up the ghost, and that leads her to his rural Gothic estate of Rookhaven to hear out the last will and testament. Along the way, readers will get to meet the manor’s eclectic staff, from a mysterious groundskeeper and his even more cryptic young daughter, the sinister and enigmatic Mr. Frey, and more.

This thrilling tale is steeped in Gothic horror and taps into timeless tropes. Fans can expect a tone and style similar to the classic Warren magazine era, when artist Jose Gonzalez made his mark and Frank Frazetta could often be found on the covers. The spooky script and Locatelli’s artistic stylings capture the sinister mansion, mist-enshrouded graveyard, witches, ghosts, werewolves, and more sights that fans will love.
