SHI: OMNIBUS VOL. 1 SMASHES $250,000.00
As production continues on the Shi: Omnibus Edition Vol. 1,over 2,300 individual backers have propelled the 488-page collection to become the biggest Crusade Comics crowdfunding campaign of all time with #NoFanLeftBehind returns totaling over $250,000.00! Final numbers for 29-day Kickstarter campaign reached $96,562.00 while the on Indiegogo, the Omnibus continues Indemand and has broken the $153K mark.
There were some setbacks as Shi creator Billy Tucci, even though vaccinated, was sidelined for over a week with Covid19. To add more strife to an already challenging month, Crusade Comics’ Executive Deborah Tucci, spent a week in hospital for an unrelated illness and suffered the loss of her beloved father, Andrew Steffens.
“During this very trying time, Deborah and I are so thankful for the countless prayers and messages of support that flooded into our inboxes and phones.” Stated Billy Tucci. “She’s slowly on the mend and will hopefully be back to 100% in the next week or two. Your caring words mean the world to us and it has truly helped with our healing and mourning.”
But #TeamShi continues forward. Designer Mindy Lopkin has 95% of the resizing of the Shi: Omnibus Vol. 1 complete. She, designer Nile Scala and Tucci continue with production. The hard cover has been sent to API Printing for proofing and press and the rest of the book, which includes a Forward by Chris Claremont, Afterword by Stan Sakai, credits, chapter headliners, pinups, roughs, process art and dust jacket) is scheduled to be off to API the end of next week.
“Since we’re indemand on Indiegogo, I will also announce our newest Stretch Goal next week.” Stated Billy Tucci. “It’s a wonderful piece of art that I had thought lost that will make a truly fun goal. I’d like to thank the legendary Jim Lee for supplying me with some classic image artboards way back in 1995 when I originally illustrated the piece!”
